I tried to boot off image 2 but had the same result. I then did some reading online and someone suggested to load a non existing config file by running config something, This didnt seem to help. I then decided to update the xos, So I downloaded the latest available for the switch which seems to be 12.6.5.2. Update completed successfully and cleared out all the configs. It rebooted and boot confirms its loading Starting ExtremeXOS 12.6.5b2 but still I get the same error message as above.

I am not quite sure how to run a hardware diagnostics to see if there is a hardware fault with the unit, or I am just doing something wrong

Hi Mark,
I've sent the file to you via email.
I made some revisions to the procedure outlined in the GTAC article Kawawa linked to. Those revisions were moved to the article’s internal notes. Unfortunately, this means you’ll have to contact GTAC for help through a remote session. This is because upgrading the bootrom from the bootrom requires debug-mode to get access to the correct upgrade commands. The full set of instructions is in the “internal notes” section of the article for the engineer to assist you. That said, I tested the bootrom upgrade procedure on one of our lab switches and can confirm that the written procedure is correct. Hopefully this fixes the problem so that you won't need an RMA.

Okay so upon some searching, someone suggested that the Bootrom images are actually stored within the XOS image, Is this correct ? I didn't want to try it incase I turned it into a brick anymore.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the reply but Kawawa already posted this how to above, I am just waiting on Drew to forward me the PMON file for the BootROM upgrade.

The instructions to upgrade BootROM from BootROM are in GTACKnowledge:
