Hallo Community,
We have multiple switches, use LAG/MLAG, and monitor everything with XIQ Site Engine (with preconfigured alarms - see image).
If a member of the "sharing group" is unavailable, an alert is sent via email:
Subject: XIQ Info Alarm: LacpAddPortToAggregator - ss0 - Device: ss0 [10.20.0.100] Severity: Info Message: extremeLacpAddPortToAggregator LACP Group "5:21", LACP Member port 6021
How can we configure the switch and/or XIQ so that the message also includes the port description ("display string" in the SNMP IF alias)?
Thank you and kind regards!
Peter

In Site Engine under Administration -> Options -> Alarm -> Alarm Action Defaults you will see the Email Body default is that as you showed above. You can change this (impacting ALL alarms w/ email notifications) or you can do the Override Content for the specific alarm's Email Action and add $alarmsubcomponent likely to expose additional information. This comes from a trap, so if the trap does not contain that additional info it may be unavailable. Click See Keywords to see what variables are available.

Hi Robert,
Thank you very much for your answer.
I tested $alarmSubcomponent, but unfortunately this variable has no content. $trapArg* also doesn't have the desired information.
Is there perhaps a way to configure the format of the trap message on the switch?
Or is it possible to define a customer alarm that reports the status change of a LACP group member, including a port description?
Best regards!
Peter
