Hi Community
I am trying to upgrade XIQ-SE with 24.10.11.15_64bit_install.bin from XIQ-SE 24.2 to XIQ-SE 24.10. on RHEL 9.4 Enterprise by CLI. I used the XIQ-SE Installation Guide 24.10.10.
On page 50 under point 15 it says that the IP address should be changed with dnetconfig. Unfortunately, this file was not included in the installation package. I therefore searched for the IPs with the find command and changed files manually.
After the first restart, the error '404 - Not Found' appears in the browser at https://192.168.1.11:8443. In the log file: /usr/local/Extreme_Networks/NetSight/appdata/logs/server.log is an entry that says
'ERROR [com.enterasys.netsight.server.jmx.NetSightSystemCheck] Attempt 1 of 12 to connect to the database failed'
What might have gone wrong?

Many thanks for the hint. I have found a solution to the problem.
Contrary to the description in the Installation Guide, I first changed the IP address and the host name in the current version of XIQ 24.2 using the dnetconfig command. I then installed XIQ version 24.10.11.15 from scratch. I used the IP address and the host name of the previous system. After I was able to log on to the Webgui with XIQ 24.10.11.15, I carried out the database migration according to the instructions in the installation guide. Now XIQ 24.10.11.15 works under RHEL 9.4.

I do not think you should be permitted to migrate from XIQ-SE 24.2 to 24.10 directly using the .bin, even on RHEL. Starting with 24.7 we switched databases from mysql to postgresql. This requires a special migration procedure as outlined in https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000119350.
The dnetconfig utility is used for Ubuntu-based systems so yes I would not see it applicable to RHEL. You would then be looking for a static IP address set in the /var/Extreme_Networks/.netsight file and/or the NSJBoss.properties file in the NetSight application sub-directory.
