Netsight trends

Hello,

I am using Netsight 6.3.0.168 and I am trying to find a way to create some trend by using MIBs.

For example I need to monitor the CPU utilization of all Switches and show it in a monthly trend. The same also for some port bandwidth or utilization percentage in switches.

However, I could not find a way to schedule some MIB get (with certain frequency) working in background.

Is that possible with this Netsight version?

Right click the device → More actions → Collect Device Statistics

You cannot choose which MIB information is collected. We will collect certain information based on device type but that information can not be customized.

Hi Ryan,

Custom reports is just what I would need choosing any MIB information like Port bandwidth utilization, Port Percentage Utilization, CPU Utilization, System temperature, etc.

Is it possible to choose what MIB Information I can get for the trend?

Also, do I need to enable statistics collection on the device? What is the command?

Hello,

If you right click the device → collect statistics the XMC server will automatically collected CPU utilization stats for all switches that you’ve enabled statistic collection on. 

Then there are some canned reports like “Top Devices by Resource”.

You could also go into the Custom reports and generate reports based on CPU utilization. The key is you need device statistics collection to start collecting the data. It will collect in 15 minute intervals.
