i am unable to generate a new alarm which i configured for a specific device /IP port /link failure alarm through edit critetia in the alarm manager configuration

OK, does the switch sent the trap = could you see the trap in Netsight Console in the "Traps" tab in the lower part of the window.

Doubleclick the trap and please attach a screenshot of the trap so we'd make sure that the custom criteria that you've configured in the alarm manager matches the trap that is coming from the device.

BTW, what kind of device is it.

Thanks for your suggestion..

i am just using the option of By custom criteria .all the defaults alarms from this switch are working.
