XIQ-SE - deploy platform installation

XIQ-SE - deploy platform installation

Hi Team!!!

In my case, historical deploys were made over VMWARE hypervisor, but now we have a problem with them.

WMARE will increase prices a lot and a lot of customer are asking for alternate hypervisors, I see that HyperV is supported but we are looking for other alternatives based in KVM like Proxmox or something similar.

My qestion is related to all suite (XIQ-SE, EAC, Analytics, Extreme Controller Campus.... ), Is there any roadmap to support other hypervisors or other alternatives to deploy the complete suit over "one" system (ubuntu for example)?

Cheers!!

EF

At this time officially the XIQ-SE portfolio is supported on VMware ESXi/vSphere and Hyper-V.

Please reach out to your @extreme account team for assistance on this matter and discussion on getting alternative hypervisors supported.

Since you also asked about Extreme Campus Controller (now XIQ-Controller): The VE6120K / VE6125K supports Proxmox.

Thank you all for your responses but I see that install them out of VMWARE or HyperV box, is a risk to reach official support.

I belive this will be a problem for a lot of customers (and other manufactures) due the prices increase by VMWARE.

Cheers!!

While all the Servers in the suite are only supported on ESXi/Hyper-V for hypervisors, consider installing via the .iso option into your KVM environment.  All should have an .iso version available.  I have done it this way for a demo environment with good success.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi,

I have multiple XIQ-SE + Control running in a proxmox environment. I used the vmware ova to import.
