XMC 8.2.x - set port frozen / disable port

XMC 8.2.x - set port frozen / disable port

Hello,

since XMC 8.2. the feature set port frozen is available (again)
thats nice, because the uplink port cannot be accidentially be configured for authentication/policy

I activated that feature on 20 switches, on the 21 first switch I was 1 pixel to high and clicked "disable port"
XMC did not ask if I am sure to disable the port. But it asks if I am sure to set the port frozen? WHY?

to my frustration this was a branch that was no offline! I needed to get it online again - on friday 😉

Dear Extreme developers. Why "disable port" does not ask for confirmation?

Hi Anton,

I believe it might be for example because freezing ports is a less often used option. If you miss-click and disable a port, you will see that quickly or a user will call you.  If you miss-click and freeze some ports, configuring things related to security (Policy, authentication etc. AFAIR) might come up much later and sometimes it's worse than having a port disabled.
The above was my try to justify the GUI. 😉

Kind regards,
Tomasz
