The ExtremeCloud™ IQ classic UI will be retired Q4 calendar year 2026. The new UI has been available  since July 2025 to ensure customers have ample time to become comfortable before the classic UI is retired.

We will be transitioning from the classic UI to our modernized new UI which will become the default interface for all ExtremeCloud IQ customers in July 2026. The classic UI will be officially retired in Q4 2026 (before December 31, 2026)

Why is This Transition Needed?

  • ExtremeCloud IQ classic is based on legacy architecture
  • No new features are being added in ExtremeCloud IQ classic
  • All features / capabilities are developed in ExtremeCloud IQ new UI and Extreme Platform ONE

Seamless Transition to ExtremeCloud IQ new

  • Customers will have a new UI and UX to manage their networks with ExtremeCloud IQ new
  • There will be NO IMPACT to customers data / networks / logs / devices
  • Customers will continue to manage and monitor their network as they have been doing prior to the upgrade

What’s Changing

  • ExtremeCloud IQ is transitioning from the classic UI to the new UI experience.
  • This is a user interface update only. The underlying platform, configurations, policies, and data remain unchanged.
  • There are specific features that will not be available in ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface based on customer usage or were not working in prior releases
  • There are specific 3rd party switches that will no longer be supported with ExtremeCloud IQ’s new user interface

What’s Not Changing

  • No impact to network operations
  • Same URL and login credentials
  • No configuration, policy, or data loss
  • No licensing or entitlement changes

@SamPirok we also use location filtering on our wireless devices so we only see what is in specific Buildings or on certain floors. In the new UI, only Site Groups appear to be filterable, which is no good for us as our site groups contain hundreds of separate buildings. The granularity of the 'drill down menu' doesn't seem to be there.

We are also unable to find anywhere in the new UI to configure or view our existing Users and User Groups (i.e. PPSK assignments) which is a major feature for us. Our 4000+ AP estate and network policies are driven by this. We need the ability to monitor PPSK usage with a client count so we can clearly see where a key may have been compromised and shared to a wider group that shouldn't have it - this is somewhat achievable in Classic "Manage > Users" view.

@DeVoID The best choice to replace the old ap1130 would be the latest ap4060x (WiFi7) !

@D_Bereda ap4060x?  we dont need wifi 6 or 7 (i dont even see that via our mgmt on any of their roadmaps), and the existing AP1130's are outside AP's in Florida weather, hence me asking if the 460c's are the way to go.

@DeVoID Sure, you can also take the AP460c but since the AP4060 is the successor it will not take long till AP460c will be EoS and you are in the same situation like now.

With the latest Universal AP you will get the longest support for your invest !

@SamPirok

Thank you for your  comment as below.

",,, I have clarification on EOSL devices working with the New XIQ UI, our statement was too broad. To be more specific- EOSL APs will continue to be able to onboard and we are NOT planning to remove interoperability, but if that breaks in the future we won't be deploying any fixes. "

We were extremely worried that EOSL APs would no longer be able to be displayed or operated using XIQ-NEW or Extreme Platform ONE, but after reading your comment, we were relieved to learn that is not the case.

If possible, could you please add your comment to the all FAQs(for sales and for customers) as a specific and unambiguous information as soon as possible?

I just noticed that the "Update Status" cloumn is missing as well as the ability to see the delta audit by tapping on the icon (like in classic UI)

If I do a config update I cannot see if it's already done or not.

Both would be very important to have a look on it!

@D_Bereda its just I see a lot of issues come up that always seem to affect the 4060's..... but i totally understand where you are coming from.

One question about them though.  We still have 100/1000 PoE+ Switches Aruba 2930F, and are still on 2.4 and 5ghz, reading the blurb about the 4060 it speaks of needing more PoE power and while I know the 4060 says it still works with 2.5 & 5ghz, would my switches be able to actually power one of those 4060 AP's up?

As for the other info, Ill pass this info along.  But am eager for your reply to my PoE question, Thanks again, DeVoiD

@SamPirok It also appears that you cant adjust the columns - I dont have any option to even load up the "new" XIQ interface -, but Im guessing its built on the back of PlatformOne, and that doesn't let you resize any of the columns.. which is a pain!. Ill have a 2 inch column with text that barely goes an inch, but cant resize it, which would allow me to see another column (without having to scroll all the way to the bottom, then sliding it over, then scrolling back up... yeah... not good).

Thanks as always, DeVoiD

Oh and one more thing I should have brought up.  I read that the New XIQ has been available since July of 2025..... I've never seen it, had no option to see it, and it has never shown up in any login / option screen Ive been on.  It doesnt show up from the 9 dot menu in PlatformOne (only XIQ Classic does), nor does it show up in any option from within XIQ Classic..

I only have access to PlatformOne and the Classic.  Im praying that when July 2026 comes around and it becomes mandatory, im not hosed, meaning I dont get to any interface (it may redirect to PlatformOne), but still... it would be nice to get to play around with the New XIQ...... even if it "feels" like platformone.... I cant say I even got any email notification about Classic being retired... I did search all my emails from Extreme, and only the backend updates are there, and its not the kind of email id delete, it would be on my schedule..... and its not!

Im very confident my issue is:

  • If you have XIQ Pilot licenses only you can switch between the Classic XIQ interface and the New XIQ interface
  • If you have Platform ONE licenses you can switch between the Platform ONE interface and the Classic XIQ interface

SIGH.  We went to renew 3 licenses (out of almost 200) and somehow we got PlatformOne license) and its never been the same again... O i think this might be why I dont see the New interface anywhere!

Any idea how I can get to "play" with XIQ New, being I dont have any selectable option to "get there".  Thanks, DeVoiD.

Is there any way to add uptime / device status to the network device filters?
i'm currently working on a rebooting AP issue for my sites, and seeing them in from shortest to longest uptime is helpful.

Thanks 🙂
