AP305c CLI configuration

Hi Extreme Networks Community,

We have new AP305c but we don’t have any DHCP server device. Can we configure static IP via CLI instead to connect the AP into internet?

Thank you so much,

Sazon

Hi,

yes this should be possible: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000057294

But the problem is that you need a special console cable to connect to the AP: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000083712

Best regards

Yes, you can configure a static IP on the AP305c via CLI if you don’t have a DHCP server. By accessing the AP’s console, you can manually set the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS servers so the AP can communicate on your network and connect to the internet. Once the static settings are applied, the AP should be able to join the controller or management network without needing DHCP.
