How to have multiple AP templates

I am trying to have two AP templates for the same AP type (one with 2.4 enabled, one with it disabled). Templates have been created but when I try to add the 2nd template to the Wireless policy it won't let me save unless I create a classification rule. I guess I could create a cloud config group and then it requires adding at least one AP to the group.

I am wanting to go into the device and choose between the two Device Templates, not go into cloud config groups. Is there a better way to do this? Seems like it should be simple.

You can select ap templates on device level. But I prefer to do it on Network policy level and indeed work with cloud configuration groups. Extreme is very flexible with this. This is one of the thinks I really like from Extremecloudiq.

In addition to JonasD's response, if you create the AP Template under "Comon Objects" -->"Policy"-->"AP Templates", you can have the AP Template created for later use.  The both Templates within the Network Policy, XIQ needs to know which template to apply to the AP - hence the requirement for the classification rule(s).

If you want to allow for individual application of the template on a per-AP basis, creating it under the "Common Objects" is easier, but it would be much more labor intensive to apply the AP Template to the APs you want, having to go into each AP's properties to apply the device template then update the AP...

Using the Cloud Config Groups is a much cleaner, less labor intensive way...  Just my opinion, your mileage may vary 😉

I was initially wanting to just make the changes from the device level, but makes sense going through cloud config groups. They make you add at least one AP to a cloud config group in order to create/save it though so I guess I'll choose an AP that is not in service. Thank you Bill!
