Is XIQ Pilot mandatory to manage AeroHive Wireless Network or can I manage locally?

I inherited a 3+ year old AeroHive network.  I ordered AP device licensing and received a line item for XIQ Pilot SaaS & EW Support Saas.  Can I manage my Aerohive network locally or am I required as prerequisite to purchase $3K ANNUAL XIQ Pilot SaaS?  It seems that I can manage locally without XIQ Pilot.  Also, is there a free version or some version of older / minimal Hive Manager or what I see as “Connect Extreme Cloud IQ”?  The end user is a non-profit and the criticality of the wireless does not justify $3K annual.  I’m a new Extreme Networks partner so I’m trying to navigate my way through support.  Also, I don’t know the scope of “EW Support Saas”.  Is this a software maintenance update to XIQ Pilot?  I’m thinking that I just need the AP device licensing (maybe Hive Manager or Connect if at all) and ensure I receive firmware updates.

Hello,

You need an cloud (xiq) account to manage/configure your AP.

But there is a free account, too. See here:

The full name of the free cloud account is ExtremeCloud IQ Connect. Here you can create an account: https://extremecloudiq.com/login
