I have been using CloudIQ to manage APs for almost two years. We are a multi-campus K-12 district with 6 primary sites. Our HS has 4 floors, and we have 130 APs on the main level of our HS.
As you can see, spitting 130 APs onto one "floor" makes a messy map. (blurred for opsec) For a scale reference the length/width of the building is approx 700 ft North-South, 800 ft East-West.
As it stands, If I show a heat map it takes about 4 minutes for the map to refresh. Forget about showing clients. That would take an hour. I am beginning to think that Heisenberg's uncertainty principal applies to AP clients as well as electrons.
If I play it "straight", as I start adding CloudIQ managed wired switches it will not get any better.
I am thinking that in the end, I will have to make dual sets of "Floors" for wired and wireless. I am also considering breaking my HS into sub-buildings to make the client features workable.
Has anybody else tackled the problem of complex planning maps in XIQ? Is there a feature I a missing, or a better strategy?
