Hi team,

I see that a common objects can be used in different network policies so maybe it´s easy mada an undesired config on a network policy, so, Is there any possibility of backup XIQ configuration? A detailed backup of an specific SSID or network policy? Restore of only an object? Compare tool os running config and backup?

Regards

Hi EF,

Configuration backup and export feature can be found on the Global Setting page at ADMINISTRATION > VIQ Management > Backup Now / Export VIQ.

Restoration can only be formed for the whole VIQ.

You do have visibility on configuration change and deployment history on the Global Setting page at Logs > Audit Logs.

It's also a good practice to check the generated delta configuration by clicking the audit icon of a device before configuration push, which can help confirm if CLI commands generated for the configuration change is expected or not.

Thats a really good point you make.  Ive been having really strange things going on, although i only have two policies.  One our production, and the other a test policy.  right now, resetting a device back to template defaults works, but the wifi0 interface is down (even though the XIQ interface is showing a channel and power as auto), the onyl way to fix it, is to assign the AP to the test policy, update, then assign it back to the production one, and update.
because XIQ was showing channels and auto for power, we had no idea wifi0 was in fact disabled.  Only found out using utilities, and Advanced Channel Selection.

If we had some tools, i could look back in time to when wifi0 started to be disabled, although the consensus is that the backend migration from Hive to XIQ broke something on my front end.

Id vote for this if its something that doesnt exist (I haven't seen anything like you describe).
