Disconnection from database by NAC authentication

Disconnection from database by NAC authentication

Hello,

We have some problems with database connections. When the NAC authenticate, then lose clients the connection to the Database. The applications send some errors.
Following Components we use:
- Switch 5320-24T-8XE EXOS
- Switch 5320-24T-8XE VOSS
- NACEngine and SiteEngine

Have someone a idea to solve this problem?

I am reaching here based on a lot of unknowns. I assume the client machine is being re-authenticated via the switch/Control and during this re-authentication there is a brief disruption in connectivity (i.e. the client may be flipping from one VLAN to another or something to that effect) that impacts existing connections.

It's unclear if this is an Extreme issue or an application issue or a bit of both.

The database connection in Control / SiteEngine is working correctly. However, the connection is lost by the SAP application or other database-based applications when the switch reconnects the client. Clients connecting to the network and authenticated by Control are working as expected. The backend databases involved are SAP HANA or Microsoft SQL Server.

Hello Lukas. Missing some detail here.

What database connection is lost? The database in Control / Site Engine?

Or are you saying clients that are connecting to the network, authenticated by Control, once authenticated are cut off from reaching some database/server in the network? This would be a Policy/Return Attributes and network switch/VLAN type issue that would need to be sorted out.

More information is required.

If necessary consider opening a support case.
