Hi everyone,
I'm working on setting up a dedicated Guest Wi-Fi network on our Cisco Meraki MX appliance, and I need some advice on best practices to ensure both security and user convenience. Here are the key requirements:
Guest Wi-Fi Network Creation: I need to create a separate Wi-Fi network specifically for guest users, ensuring it is isolated from our main business network.
IP Addressing: Guest devices should receive IP addresses dynamically from our DHCP server.
Segmentation & Security: Ensure that the Guest Wi-Fi network is fully isolated from our internal business network while still allowing guests to access the internet.
Bandwidth Control: Implement measures to control and limit the amount of bandwidth consumed by guests to prevent network congestion.
Access Management: Set up an easy-to-use captive portal for guest authentication and access management.
Monitoring & Reporting: Enable monitoring and reporting features to track guest usage and ensure compliance with security policies.
Additionally, I want to ensure that this setup doesn't cause any performance bottlenecks or security vulnerabilities, especially given that guest networks can often be a potential security risk.
If anyone has experience setting up guest Wi-Fi networks or knows of any best practices, such as specific configurations, firewall rules, or security considerations for guest environments, I would really appreciate your advice or example configurations.
Thanks in advance for your help!
