Hello,

We have two X870 switches in stack and i want to load core license on them. What is the proper procedure to apply license to switches that are in stack? Please provide a procedure.

Yes, afaik this still needs to be done, otherwise you would have a license mismatch.

So at first, disable master-capability on node 2, install license on node 1, install license on node 2, reactivate master-capability on nod 2.

Best regards
Stefan

Thanks Stefan.

But before doing those commands you provided, do i need to turn off first the master capability on the backup node? As per in this link - https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/Q_A/Can-we-enable-license-on-the-switches-in-the-...

Thanks.

Greetings,

every master-capable switch needs the license. Log in to the Stack and then connect to each node via

telnet slot <slot-number>

and then install the license

enable license <key>

This is also described in the User Guide (Configuring Stacked Switches > Managing an Operational Stack > Managing Licenses on a Stack > Upgrading Stack Licenses)

Best regards
Stefan
