Hi, we have a BlackDiamond 88100 (XOS 15.3.3.5) on one of our customer's site. Customer use to see some log messages on the switch every time they insert a SFP LX on one of this ports:
This are the events:
02/15/2017 15:33:58.32 MSM-A: Media LX is inserted into Port 7:4002/15/2017 15:33:55.71 MSM-A: Media LX is inserted into Port 7:39
02/15/2017 15:33:53.15 MSM-A: Media LX is inserted into Port 7:38
02/15/2017 15:33:41.22 Slot-7: aspendiags: processDiagRequest: diagMonitorType 0x58 enhOptions 0xb0 compliance 0x2
02/15/2017 15:33:37.83 MSM-A: Media LX is inserted into Port 7:37
02/15/2017 15:39:10.09 Slot-7: aspendiags: processDiagRequest: diagMonitorType 0x58 enhOptions 0xb0 compliance 0x2
02/15/2017 15:39:07.45 Slot-7: Previous message repeated 27 additional times in the last 3 second(s)
Is it possible to clarify what this "aspendiags" events means? Our customer reports that this events are increasing CPU from the switch.
Thanks in advance,
Diego

Im not sure if your customer is still having this problem. The “aspendiags” messages are related to the EXOS unable to read the optics EEPROM. Have you tried to reseat, and or replace the GBIC.
If that doesent work provide the below commands:
debug hal show optic-infoshow ports transceiver info detail
