We recently upgraded to the 33.3.1.4-patch1-4 for our X435 switches. Immediately after install and reboot, the switch reports temperatures at 83C. When downgraded, the temp goes back down to 38-42C. This happens with each one of them.
Has anyone else seen this? We don't think the switches are overheating and is possibly a false report (multiplying the temp by 2?) however, seeing 15C off boiling makes us nervous.

There were some changes made to temperature readings and average values made in the 30.X and 31.7 area for the x435.
As long as the switch is in the 'normal' range in 'show temperature', I would say that this is OK and is likely a difference in how the temperature values are being reported, not necessarily that anything is actually changing temperature or environment wise.
If you are getting alerts for high temperature, or if the temperature is exceeding the normal range, I would open a case with GTAC to investigate further.

Hi,
we are facing the same issue.
May I ask, what was the firmware before the update?
Regards

Version 31.4.1.12 for the most part. A few (10) had 30.5.0.259. We have about 110 of these and they are all reporting this high of a temperature after the install of 33.3.1.4-patch1-4.
