How to configure SNMP v1v2c on Extreme Switch

Hello guys, how are you?

Could you please help me with a SNMP configuration?

I have a Zabbix server and I have two extreme switches

I need to configure these two switches with SNMP v1v2c with the port 161 to zabbix server.

Could you please send me a step-by-step to do this from the ground-zero?

Regards,

Yves Antoci

Hi Yves,

I don’t want to be picky, but is it possible to migrate towards SNMPv3 perhaps? It would give you a lot more in terms of security of the management traffic…

Kind regards,

Tomasz

Hi Yves,

the SNMP packets reach the switch but are rejected, see “AuthErrors”.
Tbh I never really used SNMPv2 with EXOS, only SNMPv3, so I can’t really check your config for errors. Auth Error with SNMPv2 could mean that Zabbix uses wrong community name. How did you configure Zabbix? SNMPv2 and community “Traders”?

Best regards
Stefan
