Hello Expert,

Im start configuring my first BD8810:

First I want to upgrade the node, but for that I configure a vlan with an IP Address but Im unable to ping the IP. [My computer has the 192.168.1.2/24]

This is my config:

enable port 1:1
create vlan "test"
configure vlan test tag 10
configure vlan test add ports 1:1 untagged
configure vlan test ipaddress 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
enable ipforwarding vlan test

There is something that I missing?? Maybe something new for the BlackDiamonds

Thanks

Hi Mario Cruz,

Is ping from both the direction not functional or is the ping in any 1 direction not functional.

Also, please check the output of "show fdb port 1:1" to see if the MAC of the PC is learnt in the switch. And also check the output of "show iparp" to see if the IP address of the PC is learnt in the switch.

Let us also check if there are any errors occurring in the port and the command is as below,

- show port 1:1 rxerror
- show port 1:1 txerror

Thank You,
Muthuraman

Hi,

Ping is not functional in both directions.

The MAC is learned via the fdb command but no via the iparp, And looking for the errors there is no such on the port.

Any idea.

Thanks

Mario

Hi Mario Cruz,

I see all the necessary configuration for the communication to happen between the PC (192.168.1.24/24) and the BD8810 (192.168.1.1/24).
I don't see a reason as to why the ping will not go through between the switch and the PC.

Is there any firewall that is enabled in the PC that could be taken down and checked?

What about the port LED status and please check the output of "show port 1:1" to see if the status of the port is "Enabled" and "Active".

Thank You,
Muthuraman

Hello Muthuraman,

I remove the firewall on my laptop and the same issue.
The port is Active no issue with the cable.

There is something new for the BD to configure?? Like the modules? We just power on the equipments.

Thanks for the quick response.
