MLAG configuration

MLAG configuration

Good evening, we are going to change an Exnterasys  S4 with 2 x590 plus 4 v400.

Now I have only one IP address configured.

The question is whether the whole core can have a single IP address as if it were a chassis or should I consider them different switches ?

thanks in advance

Giuseppe

Thanks to all. we used the second option, 2 X590 in MLAG, 4 V400 connected with 2 links to X590.

We connected also 5 X440 with 2 links in LACP ( X440 -LACP   -→    X590-MLAG ).

Thanks for your reply, the correct option is the second, but my question is if I will manage the system ( 2 x590 + 4 V400 ) as if it were one system with only one ipaddress ?

For example, If I want to configure the port 10 in core B I have to connect to ipaddress of core B or I can configure only one IP for all Switches ( like Stacking ) ?

Thanks

Giuseppe

Giuseppe,

It depends of what you want to achieve.

A lot of options are available to meet your own needs:
