Hi all,
I have X460 with XGM3S-4SF Module. From the description on the datasheet mentions :
XGM3S-4SF
4-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet module, provides four SFP+ ports.
These four SFP+ ports can support both 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+
transceivers and Gigabit Ethernet transceivers.
I am using this module with 3x10GE SFP+ and 1x1GE SFP SX. Based on the datasheet description state that support for Gigabit Ethernet transceiver. I just want to make sure before the project begin, is this module can support SFP SX ?
or
May I use 10GE SFP+ SR to connect to Juniper router with SFP SX ?
Thank You.

As you stated there are 48 copper ports and 4 SFP ports in the X460-48t. Yes you can insert up to 4 SFPs to the X460-48t base unit and yes it does support the10051.
With X460-48t you can have up to 52 front-panel ports active plus one dedicated management port. You can have additional ports from the rear of the switch if the module is inserted

Hi Zdenek,
I really appreciate for your prompt reply and happy with the result 🙂
Anyway, I see from the switch hardware below :
Summit X460-48t/48tDC switch
48 x 10/100/1000BASE-T (RJ-45)
4 x 100/1000BASE-X (SFP) unpopulated ports
1 x Serial (console port)
1 x 10/100/1000BASE-T out-of-band management port
1 x USB port for external USB flash
I can see, there are 4 unpopulated ports. Is this port can support P/N: 10051 (1000BASE-SX SFP, LC Connector) too?
Thank You

Hi,
the standard SFP+ slot is 1/10G. You can insert SFP to SFP+ slot. Standard SFP+ transceiver is 10G only. So if you connect SR transceiver (10G) to SX transciever (1G) it will not work.
There are dual speed SFP+ transceivers on the market = can operate on 10G and 1G based on the transceiver on the other side.
from Extreme PriceFile:
10GB-SRSX-SFPP = 10GB / 1GB DUAL RATE, MM 850nm 10GBASE-SR / 1000BASE-SX, LC SFP+
the 10GB-SRSX-SFPP is not supported on X460 platform.
based on datasheet:
These four SFP+ ports can support both 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ transceivers and Gigabit Ethernet transceivers.
I do not expect issues if you insert P/N: 10051 (1000BASE-SX SFP, LC Connector) to the P/N: 16120 (XGM3SB-4sf/module).
regards
Zdenek
