Hello

I have two x450a switches working as stacking The second switch suddenly broke down, and I would like to change it with the same model. My question is what should I do and will the configuration be affected if I apply the stacking ?  Please Help

Make sure the replacement node is exactly the same model as the failed switch.

Make sure the new switch has the same xos and the failed switch

Make sure the new switch and the existing slot 1 have the same running/selected partition

If all the looks good you should be able to physically replace the old switch with the new switch the connect to the master and run Show stacking. you want to see your new switch and it should show as disabled. Capture its mac address and use it to replace the mac in the below commands.

sync stacking node-address  00:00:00:00:00:00
y

configure stacking node-address  00:00:00:00:00:00 slot 2
enable stacking node-address 00:00:00:00:00:00
reboot node-address 00:00:00:00:00:00
y

The port config should all be intact as the config lives on the master.

Hi,

this article should answer your question: https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/How_To/How-to-replace-a-node-in-a-SummitStack

The configuration will stay the same.

Best regards
Stefan
