Hi there,
I am looking at the best way of configuring STP on two summit switches as an example
switch 1 ports 1 T vlan 10, ports 2 T vlan 20 port 3 U vlan 30, Ports 23,24 are Tagged on Vlans 10,20,30.
switch 2 ports 1 T vlan 10, ports 2 T vlan 20 port 3 U vlan 30, Ports 23,24 are Tagged on Vlans 10,20,30.
ports 23,24 are our Trunk ports
how would i get STP running on ports 23/24 to prevent a loop. should i be looking a MSTP or somthing else?
Thanks

Hello,
Try setting up RSTP. When adding trunk ports to the RSTP domain, add the ports as EMISTP mode. Then define those port/link types as point-to-point.
Let me know if this helps any? (from Shashank_S Kumar)

Here is a link to EAPS in the Extreme Concept Guide:
https://www.extremenetworks.com/libraries/techpubs/EXOS_All/X_eaps/eaps.shtml
EAPS won't work with third party devices. (from ethernet)

Hi,
would you be able to provide me with some guidence on setting EAPS - will this also enable protection on ports from loops created by 3rd part switch (if someone connects a HP switch and causes a loop)
Thanks (from minshall82)

minhsall82, have you considered configuring EAPS? It is much easier and faster. If you need assistance with that, let us know. (from ethernet)
