TDR or similar cable test diagnostics

TDR or similar cable test diagnostics

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if the summit series has any TDR functionalities or similiar failure detection features on copper cables. I know the summit series has a run diagnostics command, but, from what I've read, it only tests ASIC and packet loopback.

Cheers.

It's working for me using my cell phone (not on internal wireless).
Specifically regarding cable diag, there's this page: http://api.extremenetworks.com/EXOS/Applications/Cablediag/

Note that in 22.5, a normal CLI command was added
code:
run diagnostics cable ports [ {port-list} | all ]

Hope everyone is doing well.

I am testing some cables (which were ofcourse certified by the cable guys) and want to make sure I understand the output.

Port 4:12 has a camera on the end of it that is working

Slot 4
port 12: cable (4 pairs, length +/- 10 meters)
pair A Ok, length 37 meters
pair B Ok, length 42 meters
pair C Short, length 37 meters
pair D Short, length 38 meters

Port 5:29 has a camera that is not working

Slot 5
port 29: cable (4 pairs, length +/- 10 meters)
pair A Ok, length 42 meters
pair B Open, length 42 meters
pair C Short, length 43 meters
pair D Short, length 45 meters

Am I correct to assume C & D are the POE pairs and “Short” means the the circut is closed on the PoE pairs while Ok means there is a device at the end of a non-PoE pair? These leave Open to mean the switch detects nothing at the end of wire.

Also I saw someone ask about but didn’t see the answer to:

A,B,C,D = 1/2,3/4,5/6,7/8 = Blue, Orange, Green, Brown

It would be great to tell them to check the Orange pair for port 5:29

Thanks,

If it helps...

Pair A = Green

Pair B = Orange

Pair C=Blue

Pair D=Brown

couldn't find the answer, so i made got a cable and ran the command - all pairs present and then started cutting pairs/process of elimination and re-running the command until all pairs were "Open".

Good times...

Is there a similar script that could be run on a G1 switch running 16.2?
