Traffic not passing

Good Day all,

I have an x460-48P in a stack, and I’m having trouble getting some traffic to pass through the switch.

If do a show iparp “IP of the device not getting the traffic”

I see 19 dynamic entries, 0 static entries, but i see a large number at the rejected count.

it’s currently at 114336199 , i also see the rejected port..

So it looks like traffic is dying on this switch but i’m not sure why. can you guide me in the right direction?

Hello,

That counter is incremented when an IP address comes in the listed vlan and port, but is not in the correct subnet range for that vlan. I would check to make sure the networks/subnet mask, vlans, and tags are setup correctly in order to troubleshoot this issue. The command “show port <port> info detail” can show which vlans are on which ports and if they are tagged or untagged. Also, the “show vlan” output will display the IP address and mask configured on the vlans for the switch.

Thank you,

Brad
