Hi Guys,

We have some scripts (dynamic/static) running on our switches. as being very new with extreme I dont know how the extreme scripting works.

We are upgrading the switches firmwares now, so wondering if we upgrade the firmware would we loose any scripts? also we have taken the backups of the configuration, does that mean our scripts have been backed up?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Many thanks,
Qasim (from qasim_khan)

Hey Qasim02

the scripts should be okay unless you are going from a very old version of XOS to something new. UPM profiles will be in the configs but stack scripts are files on the switch. If you do a LS you will see the static scripts as they show with the extension .xsh. Those file sdo need to be TFTPed to a server if you want to back them up.

There used to be a UPM profile that I think is on the site that would automatically save all of the files every time someone telnetted to the switch. May still be there under workbench.

Hope that helps.
