Hi All,
We have several sites that we use Extreme Switches for handing out DHCP, this causes me issues (I'm a server nerd) with Active Directory. As the way our network nerds have set them up, they don't integrate with Microsoft DNS.
I found the answer for Cisco routers on how to do this, but haven't been able to find the same thing for the Extreme switches. That is, when a computer gets a DHCP IP from an Extreme switch. Can it update a Microsoft DNS server with the new lease information ie. PC name and IP.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards
Andrew

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't/shouldn't that be done by the PC/workstation/server through "register this with DNS" in the IPv4/IPv6 advanced settings?
