Hello Team, kindly confirm if V400 switch series can be configured as access switches, with X440 exos as basic L3 ?

No, the V400 is an extended edge, which means its ports are seen as belonging to the Controlling Bridge it is connected to. Controlling bridge can be any of X690, X670 or X590.

Browsing here about these lovely networking challenged, not even dumb switches.

Rumor was XIQ would act a CB for these. Brilliant. I entered an environment with issues, putting it lightly. A deployment model in that scenario would be easy to sell to a board that spent quite a bit to upgrade their network. They were sold something, definitely not an upgrade.

Still have to move on, as the XIQ rumor was bs. The old switches were more than twice as fast, line rate speed, and could do those crazy things that switches sometimes do. I'm sure some places love it.

There must be some way to get these to do something. ArcOS, seemingly should, I have zero clue how. Obviously breaking a warranty for enormous purple paper weights is not a concern.

Now I get why this is their leader in Extreme's aggravation edge model. Vlan 2 on port 1, vlan 3 on port 2, but vlan 2 configured to access printers only in vlan 3.

These beasts have to travel to ridiculous places to know that what it's looking for is so close, yet who cares basically.

Someone must have gotten these to do something. Extreme should come up with that option, adult mode licensing, or make customers sign something that explains this model. Poor C-Levels didn't know, BoM was done with outside engineer you grabbed vlan Information and bandwidth usage. When all departments pushing more data than the entire company with a 4x multiplier. COO didn't know VoIP was going to matter. Now 2500 devices aren't accounted for.

Now once again, have too many options. The real ExtremeNAC, now on its 27th name, comes up in any top 5 NAC solution. Universal switches work with cloud OOB. Great, I assume it would in XMC too. WiNG, such a MINT offering, of course purchased. Driven away, impossible to identifi the cause.

I can't imagine in reality who at Extreme while pushing everything being done at for edge, then starts selling these. What company was purchased to paint these purple? If a hacker can leverage a thermometer to take down casinos, one of the good guys must be able to add something. Seeing these with link light is offensive.

Oh and no to the OP

The newly released X465 can also act as a controlling bridge.
