hi everybody,

I have 4 Switch Extreme, two BlackDiamond 8801 in Datacenter1 and two Summit x460 in DataCenter 2.

I need configure vrrp, but i not understand the best practices for the use VRID. this is a topology:

Use the same or diferents VRID?

Hi Oscar, I would recommend to use different VRIDs.

This allows you to have both BD8Ks and X460s acting as master for different subnets. This helps for a better performance (half vlans being routed by BD8K-1 and half by BD8K-2).

Also, the VRRP MAC address is created using the VRID number which helps when troubleshooting and performing packet captures.
