X440-G2-24p Fan Speeds

What is the go with the X440-G2 fan speeds. We have some of these switches in class rooms and cabinets in classrooms and they are so noisy. We also have some in one of our data centers and its at a much much lower temp, but the same fan speed?

Office Switch:
Events 2.14 # sh temp
Field Replaceable Units Temp (C) Status Min Normal Max
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Switch : X440G2-24p-10G4 90.20 Normal 0 10-100 110
Events 2.15 # sh fan

Slot-1 FanTray information:
State: Operational
NumFan: 4
Fan-1: Operational at 7440 RPM
Fan-2: Operational at 7560 RPM
Fan-3: Operational at 7620 RPM
Fan-4: Operational at 7680 RPM

Data Center Switch:
Server Room Edge.1 # sh temp
Field Replaceable Units Temp (C) Status Min Normal Max
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Switch : X440G2-48p-10G4 52.50 Normal 0 10-100 110
Server Room Edge.2 # sh fan

FanTray information:
State: Operational
NumFan: 4
Fan-1: Operational at 7680 RPM
Fan-2: Operational at 7680 RPM
Fan-3: Operational at 7620 RPM
Fan-4: Operational at 7620 RPM
Server Room Edge.3 #

They're about 40 degrees apart but running the same fan speeds? I have read that <30 and they run half speed? Do they not ramp up on scale with the temperature?

Dear all,
Extreme found a problem with X440-G2 - fans running too high.
https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/Solution/Fan-Speed
After showing samples of a x440-g2 stack with slot1 having 3 poe devices and slot 2 with no poe devices they gave my ticket to engineering. They found the problem and will resolve it in EXOS 22.7.1-Patch1 which is scoped for mid of October (CR xos0075492)
I am glad they found it. We have ~100 x440g2 switches.

I have tried multiple releases (including the ones above), including the latest firmware as of this post - EXOS 31.1.1.3.  Even with 0 PoE ports enabled, I am above 6k consistently with almost no active devices on the switches (pair of X440G2-48p-10G4 stacked).  7680RPM or so seems the average for all the fans.  3 3935i PoE APs on each switch (evenly balanced - total of 6) has no impact on the fan speeds versus the scenario with all of those ports turned off on the switch, delivering 0 power to the APs.

Following these steps to reset fan speeds to defaults doesn't help:

https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000058778&q=x440-g2 fan speed

I can lower speeds with the other debug command it shows but I don't know what would be safe to use.  Too bad a manual debug command with a static value is needed...versus automatic practical lower RPM values when under low load...

summitX-22.7.1.2-patch1-8.xos also solves the problem

I can confirm that version 30.3.1.6 solves the problem with with fans running too high when less than 6 poe devices are connected (CR xos0075492)
The fans are now 2000rpm instead of 6000rpm
