when the router boots up and you run the show command the Ethernet ports show as being disabled, however when you plug in an Ethernet cable the port comes up. is there a way to enable the ports, and change the admin state, as the show port status say admin state down.

hello,
in the config mode you can use the command "show"
this now will show the config with line numbers #.
to remove commands you enter "negate #" and "save active".
now the config remove the line numbers.

Thanks bastian ... this was doing my head in lol. if i do a show port status on et.1.1 link state is up and admin state is up now.

use the command
negate 1
save active

this should cause the disabled port will be enabled

Thanks for the reply, if i do a show command, line 1 for example has :- port disable et.1.1 im looking to enable this port.
