Hello,
I've an MLXe rockin it and was curious if it has some sort of battery that keeps date and time? During any sort of power failure the date resets to Dec 31 of some year and NTP no longer works because of the date being so far off. Not a huge deal to reset the date/time but it would be kinda nice not to. I looked and didn't didn't see any sort of CMOS type battery. Does the MLXe in fact keep date/time after a power outage?

Hello. Our old chassis products in general have the CMOS battery on the management module, much like any PC. Yes indeed the CMOS battery is used to preserve the time during reboot. However it is not considered a customer-replaceable part. CMOS batteries are in general designed to last the lifetime of the product. If they die out while a valid entitlement contract is in play, we recommend RMA of the management module. NTP 1000 second off panic mode situation, no working CMOS battery, a one time manual setting of the clock would be necessary.
