capture and view interface traffic locally - or best practices to achieve similiar

Hi 

i'd like to know if there is a similiar simple way on a voss switch to capture traffic on the box itself from a port with a circular/linear buffer, a la cisco...

monitor caputre buffer BUF size 2048 max-size 1518 circular
"maybe add some ACL to pre-filter the incoming/outgoing pkts"
monitor capture start BUF
monitor capture stop BUF 
show monitor capture BUF

i always appreciated this option on the catalyst series

thanks for your reply. 

yes - like a tcpdump. less featureset would be ok. just like on the catalysts. inline minimal viewing posiibility. full dump when donwloaded from the switch. 

The TPVM would be a possible alternative. since we use both platforms, 7400&4900. 

but i would need to install the SSD VIMs onto the switches were i want to capture, right?

i think i also need to spend some time on reading about i-sid mirroring 🙂

OOH just noticed you did say VOSS sorry, I use Voss a lot but haven't actually needed to do it.
