A static route pointing to virtual IP remains active until the ARP entry timeout (minutes to hours), with an ipsla equivalent feature the route would become invalid within seconds.
I found EXOS supports ipsla and there is also a "protection" option as well for static routes that would do the trick but can't find any information for VOSS switches.
