Guys, call me crazy but how is it possible that our AP3915s do not (or no longer!?) send a vendor-class-identifier in their DHCP requests?
Trying to reconfigure some stuff on DHCP server we stumbled over this....
The Discover and Request packets do not have set either option 43 nor 60...

Soooo, I'm not crazy but a somewhat stupid/naive. LOL
The discovery process seems to be a little more complicated.
Option 60 is only transmitted in DHCP INFORMs after the initial DHCP process that assigns the IP is complete. (https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000077066)
I'm not sure why that is, because it makes your life more difficult in case you wanted to somehow organize your ranges by device type. But anyway... there you go 😁
PS. Note, option 60 is still not contained in every INFORM packet.
