I would like to install Vmware Vsphere Client on my Ubuntu 14.04 machine so that I can connect to the Extreme Networks Shuttle controller and then log in to the VM's which are hosted in that machine but off late I was unable to find out how to install it on Ubuntu.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated and if that is not the case then I would like to know if there is any other possible way to connect to the VM's on the controller?

Here is VMware's official stance on your question: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalI...

While there might not be a native client for Linux, vEMan can be a good alternative. You can view information about it here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/veman/

All the best!

Just a fact. VMware has the vSphere Web Client. It's web based analog of vSphere Client. But I don't know anything about licenses or how you could install and run it.
