First of all, I apologize for the wrong category and for any details where I might be being unfair, but I would like to vent about Extreme’s rewards platform, myrewards.extremenetworks.com. It has a very good idea behind it, but the execution is somewhat bizarre. Here is my experience:
I completed several trainings on the platform and participated in all the activities they mention to earn points. The only thing I didn’t do was sales-related activities, as that is not my role in the company. Even so, the points are distributed in a strange way—sometimes they are credited, sometimes they are credited incorrectly, and other times they are not counted at all.
When I contacted them via email, the company simply said there wasn’t much they could do. That makes me wonder: why should I put in extra effort to earn these points if they won’t be properly credited?
Additionally, the platform has bugs when redeeming rewards, and the task list hasn’t been updated for quite some time, which makes the Extreme community feel somewhat neglected. I believe Extreme could pay more attention to the platform and review points that are not being properly credited. From what I understand, these points are manually added by an administrator, and if they make a mistake or fail to add them, we end up without the points.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi Luis,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for being candid in your feedback. We genuinely appreciate you engaging with the Extreme Rewards platform and understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t feel consistent or transparent.
I’d like to first clarify the concern around your training-related points. We did respond promptly to your inquiry, and after reviewing your activity, your training points were added at the appropriate time and in alignment with the program rules. That said, if there are any specific activities or points you believe are still missing, we’re more than happy to review those with you—please feel free to share the details so we can take another look.
Regarding program structure, the baseline earning activities are intentionally kept consistent throughout the year to make the program easier to understand and participate in. These activities are reviewed annually to ensure they continue to align with partner roles and behaviors we want to encourage. While some activities are sales-related, SEs and technical personas can absolutely earn points—including for opportunities they help build, support, or influence from a technical standpoint. In addition, we regularly offer quarterly promotions that provide opportunities to earn bonus points beyond the baseline activities.
You also raised concerns about platform experience and usability, including redemption issues, task visibility, and the overall sense that the platform hasn’t been refreshed recently. This feedback is important, and I want you to know it’s being taken seriously. While some activities—such as certain point adjustments—are administered manually to ensure accuracy, we recognize how critical it is that points are credited correctly and that the platform experience feels reliable and well-maintained.
Finally, we would really value your input going forward.
Are there specific activities, rewards, or improvements you’d like to see—particularly for technical roles like yours? Your recommendations would be extremely helpful as we continue to review and evolve the program.
Thank you again for your honesty and for being part of the Extreme community. We appreciate your engagement and hope we can continue improving the experience together.
Best regards,
Shera

An example of points not being accounted for is community participation. There’s no point in trying to improve the community through point-based rewards if those points are not actually granted. Another issue is the lack of clarity on when points are credited. Today, several analysts had their points recorded, while mine were not. This only discourages analysts from using the platform and pushes them to move to other alternatives.

Hi Luis,
Communities has recently been relaunched, and you’ll start to see more activities and opportunities added there soon.
For rewards timing, when you enrolled in a persona and access the Partner Sales Zone page, there is a note in bold that states: uploads typically occur on or around the 1st and 15th of each month.
If you think something may be missing, your Partner Account Manager (PAM) will be happy to help. They can share the details with the Rewards team so everything can be reviewed and sorted out for you.
