Hi,
I’m searching to get this question answered: In the Extreme portfolio we have CloudIQ, Campus controllers and related AP’s and Wing controllers and related AP’s.
If i’m a greenfield customer and do not want Cloud management, but on-prem, i can choose between Campus & Wing. What questions should there be answered to make the right choice ? Is there a sheet with differences between Wing and Campus ? I need arguments, details and features why to make the choice for one or the other and can’t find anything about this. Can you help me ? There must be some kind of sheet or presentation about this ?
Thanks in advance and best regards, paul.gijbels@ingrammicro.com

Hi Paul,
Sam’s recommendation should give you possibility to get the most thorough answers possible, along with some PoCs maybe.
There is a lot of differences between the two in terms of scalability, user interface, configuration architecture, interoperability (APIs) and bigger/smaller features you may or may not need. I have never seen such list, it would be huge (WiNG has a lot of features that were probably requested by some noble clients in the past, what do you think about BGP and VRRP on a wireless controller?).
Personally I prefer WiNG for its pretty unique control plane, very detailed 802.11 tweak options and extreme scalability, on the other hand XCC provides you with pretty straightforward GUI, decent Policy feature or Defender for IoT app.
As far as I remember back in the days, the most significant differentiatior of the two was scalability and single-site/multi-site deployment scenarios. But again, besides that there might be certain features you may like in this or that platform, it is a matter of some longer conversation very likely.
Kind regards,
Tomasz

Hi Paul, I don’t have this documentation on hand, but again your sales engineer will have something like this for you. If you can tell me what country you are in, I can recommend a local sales engineer to speak with.

Please email me the documentation that compares the 2 so i can choose Wing or Campus
No individual datasheets please, i have those. Only the differences and why to choose the one or the other.
Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul, that is a great question for our sales team who can walk you through all the differences in our products. If you can let me know generally where you are located, I can send you contact details for a local sales engineer near you.
