3935i AP's Flapping

3935i AP's Flapping

I have a customer who is using Nagios to monitor their network devices. They mentioned that they are getting numerous alerts of ports flapping on their switches. All of the ports that are flapping are new 3935i AP's that were just installed. I noticed the controller shows that many of the AP's are in Low Power Mode. Would low power mode on the AP's make it look like a port flapping in Nagios?

Thanks!

Hello

I would recommend checking this article and make sure you are on 10.01.06 firmware: https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/Solution/AP3935-rebooted-on-code-firmware-10-01-0...

If this doesn't help or you are already upgraded then I would recommend you open a case with GTAC to check this, I don't expect the lower power mode would cause the port to flap but we would need to check the controller/AP logs to find out what is happening.

See these articles for gathering the logs if you are not familiar with the procedure.
