Hi i am Paul, i am new here and also in Extreme WLAN. I have a lot of experience in WLAN from other vendors, but not from Extreme.
I does my first installation from a XCC E2120 and AP505 and there rising some questions.
For the E2120 and the AP505 i have to use the "Identifiy" mode, or?
Identify means, the AP is controlled from the Controller, right? Is it also named as "Centralitzed"?
I have a HA E2120 setup, so if one E2120 Controller failed the AP switchover to the secondary Controller. If also the second Controller failed the APs failed also, or?
Is there a way that the APs can work further without the XCC E2120?
I also need a smart way to switch the old 3965 APs in Wing mode controlled (or managed, i don´t know) from a Controller to the new E2120, what are the possibles i can use?
Thanks for your help.
Ciao Paul

Here for your first question: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000081742&q=persistent%20session
For the second question, you can:
- SSH the AP and type on the cli:
- cset authip 1 <public IP address of your Wireless Controller)
- capply
- csave
- On the Controller go to the AP context and force the new controllers:
- ap
- 16XXY-1XXX900000
- aclist 11.22.33.44
- aclist 11.22.33.55
- apply
- exit
- 16XXY-1XXX900000
- ap
- You can also perform this via the GUI of the controller in the settings of an AP

Mig
