Currently we are using 36, 40, 44, 48 only under 5ghz radio with 40Mhz . Can I add 49, 153, 157, 161 also . . Deployment is huge around 850+ access points..... can i use 49, 153, 157, 161 in india.... we are planning to change 40mhz to 20Mhz/auto on 5ghz radio is it fine.

Hello SaiPrasad,

For the WS-AP3805e, running 10.11.01 firmware, I see channels 36-64 available for India. This is with the small PRO-ANT-DIP model antennas connected. As Zdenek and others have mentioned, the available channels can vary depending on antennas as well as other factors.
This kb article explains a more on the variables taken into account with compliance testing.

Available channels can vary due to antenna, channel width and also between models, different firmware versions, antennas, etc.
I have seen other AP's that have some of the upper band UNII-3 channels (149-165) available in India, but not the AP3805i model.

That being said, with a large deployment like you have, I agree with what Philipp has commented. It is fine to use 20mhz setting with 5ghz and very much recommended.

Jason

at least you should be able to use channels 52-64 / 100-116 / 132 -140 but i am not sure about the DFS in india, because for most countries (europe / US) those are DFS channels and need to change in case of radar interferences etc.

In high-densitiy environments it is always the best way to use 20MHz channels in 5GHz radio, because it provides more channels to use, means less interefences and a cleaner air. get rid of the high bandwith stuff with 802.11ac 

I have not found any useful info in the above link , AP model is 3805i

Can anyone suggest what more channels I can use apart from "36, 40, 44, 48" in India.

Considering the fact that the Deployment is dense (850+) access points , and also changing 5 ghz radio from 40mhz to 20mhz is suggestable ?

Thanks
SaiPrasad

It also depends on AP and antenna.
