How to authenticate wireless client to NPS Win2012 ( no certificate only domain credential )

Certificate is necessary ?

thanks, I first configured Radius to authenticate che user to need to manage Switch X440 and It works.

I have to ask to IT admin to give me a certificate or to install a certificate to NPS.

Hello Guiseppe,

what you want to do is 802.1X PEAP meaning you want to use your active directory credentials to authenticate your clients. In this case your clients do not need to have a certificate however the NPS server needs to have one. This certificate on your server is the RADIUS server certificate that is displayed to the client whenever it tries to authenticate. The client uses this to verify the authenticity of your NPS server.
