Great, thanks for the explanation!

As for a support case I’m afraid I won’t be able to open one.
Since I can actually work around the bug and tracking is not important from my side, let’s call it a report in the mere interest of product improvement.

Many thanks again for your time and help, Sam. Keep up the good work!

Happy I could help! In the future, if you remove the AP from it’s current inventory by logging in to XIQ> Go to Manage> Devices> Check the box next to the device you want to remove> Click the trashcan icon towards the top of the page, that will free the serial number up so you can add it to a different inventory.

Quick tip, removing an AP from an XIQ inventory will typically reset the device to factory default settings, just something to be aware of. If you know what XIQ instance you want to move the AP to, having the configuration already built in the new XIQ instance will reduce the amount of network down time you have after you remove the AP from it’s original inventory.

As for the bug you’ve found, thank you very much for the detailed explanation. The fastest way to get our engineering team on this issue is to open a case we can reference when reporting this issue. Are you able to open a support case on extremeportal.force.com? If not, please let me know and I’ll see if we have any alternative options to report the issue you’ve found.

To follow up on this thread - after a very fast reply from Sam everything worked as quick and easy as possible regarding the updates and VIQ issue. - Thanks again!

One follow up question though:
What would be the right way to disengage an AP from the cloud so that next time I move it to a different account/VIQ it can be done without support?

Also I believe to have found a bug with v10.0.10.2 when assigning the country code for Austria (040).

While the number is correct the router seems to broadcast the code as “AS” (typo?) which is American Samoa (16). - Read out on OSX and Windows.

This became an issue because I use g/n channel 13 which is not available in “AS” and therefore my “lab-Mac” did not bother connecting to the network or even scanning that far at all...
Mitigated by switching to “Germany” but rather tricky to find in a real environment (lots of annoyed Mac user threads to be found on the web though about this Mac behaviour).

Win 10 and Linux didn’t seem that picky and still connected.

Hi Martin, thanks for reaching out. You are correct, you’d need to go to 6.2r1 next, and then up to 6.5r3 in order to manage the device in the XIQ platform. I’ve emailed you with instructions on how to get the firmware files you need and a guide that reviews how to update firmware via the AP’s Web UI.

As for the error you’re seeing, if you can reply to my email with your AP serial number, I can help you out with that as well!
