Network optimization for high-traffic streaming app deployment

Hi everyone,

I’m working on deploying a video streaming app  that handles a large number of concurrent users, and I’m trying to optimize the network performance using Extreme Networks infrastructure.

Currently, the issue we’re facing is with maintaining stable throughput and low latency when user traffic spikes during peak streaming hours. We’re using ExtremeSwitching and ExtremeControl in our setup.

Can anyone share best practices or configuration tips for:

  • Managing QoS for streaming media traffic

  • Optimizing multicast or unicast streams

  • Monitoring bandwidth usage in real time

  • Preventing jitter or buffering issues during live events

Would really appreciate insights or any documentation references that could help improve the streaming experience for our users.

Thanks in advance!

Great discussion on optimizing networks for high-traffic streaming applications. Performance, bandwidth management, and reducing latency are especially important when users are accessing content-heavy platforms. Excellent post! In order to provide a better more accurate answer can you clarify what management platform you have the devices in?
