Hi,
If i click on an AP, it is showing devices connected to wifi0 and wifi1, here is a screenshot of that:
But if i select the AP and then go to Utilities >» Status » Advanced Channel Selection, it is showing wifi0 as disabled - link down, shown here:
So if wifi0 Up or down? Why is that showing wifi0 as Disabled (Link Down), and yet clicking on an AP, shows devices on both wifi interfaces?
We disabled 2.4ghz on the AP650 Template, and replaced it with 5ghz, this is what it looks like:
Any ideas on that? otherwise ill open a support case (just as soon as i close one thats currently open).

OK, i plugged the AP into port 38 of the HP2929 Poe+ switch, and changed the config for the port. I wrote the changes to the config.
Then running a show config, i see it there:
I got back to my office, logged into XIQ, selected that AP, and did Status » Advances Channel Selection. Its still showing Disabled:
While the AP did reboot, it did it prior to that change on the Switch. So im rebooting the AP now, and will see what it shows in Advanced Channel Selection.
When we took it off 2.4ghz, and selected 5ghz for wifi0 interface, it auto-selected the radio profile. I’m wondering if i should change that and see what happens. This is what wifi0 looks like:

Hmmmm very interesting. Although id have to go port by port, per that article. Rather than that, as we pretty much have a standard range for AP ports, i can do the command as this (with Enabled at the end of course):
I have an AP650 in an IDF. That one, as im sure all AP’s are, is showing that disabled within Advanced Channel. As a test, I’m going to walk over there, see what switch & port its in, BUT do the command for the port and not the range, then i can see if the Advanced Spectrum changes to Enabled. If nto, ill reboot that AP, and then check it again.

EDIT: Well this is odd. I went over to the IDF, and for my own sake, moved it to an Ethernet port not surrounded by other cables, so i could absolutely see the right port number. I plugged it back in, and thats when i noticed the AP had a solid white light! Normally they blink Orange until they have fully loaded their config and ready for devices to attach. Ive never seen one go straight to white (ive seen solid white versus blinking white, although thats rare, most blink white). very strange. Anyway, im going to make that change in the switch, will post back.

Forget enabling support for pre-standard, this is just for super old devices.

OK, here's the deal.
We have two types of switches, HP J9729A 2920-48G-POE+ switches and Aruba JL557A 2930F-48G-740W-PoE+ - 4SFP Switches.
I telnetted into one of the 2920’s - which shows its POE+ at the top - and used the show power-over-ethernet brief, and as you can see form the screen grab below, we are way under the 370W max:
Those 2.7, 3, are VoIP phones, the AP’s are drawing about 10-12W’s, shown here:
I do not believe other than the banner at the top stating its PoE+, and spec sheet, that there is a way to see if its delivering PoE or PoE+ power. I don't think there is such a thing, it is just what it is, PoE+
BUT, a quick search on HP’s website for the HP J9729A 2920-48G-POE+ i found an interesting blurb about Enabling Support for Pre-Standard Devices, “support some pre-802.3af devices”.

PS: While I'm not getting any messages about insufficient PoE power, there is an article about the AP misreporting its power needs via LLDP to the switch, check it out and let me know what you think of this as well:

Thanks Daniel, ill do that. I know we were asked what type of switches we had (mostly HP2920’s and some HP2930F’s), and they said the AP’s will be fine for PoE.
Ill post back what I find, best to look at its spec sheet @ HP.com.
