AP360i not converting from VC (or adopted) to Standalone

I’m trying to configure the access points for our customer on a new warehouse.

The network is still being installed and I’m not onsite. I configured AP1 (AP360i. Wing 7.4) as a Virtual controller and AP2 (AP360i, Wing 7.4) to be adopted but it didn’t. Since I have to ship the access points to the customer next day, I’ve decided to change the VC configuration to Standalone (static ip at WAN and DHCP at LAN comparing the setup with AP3 (same new equipment) that is setup as standalone.

Both AP1 and AP2 were setup as standalone but the RF scanner still doesn’t get the wireless signal. AP3 works as I was able to get an excellent signal and can find the access point.

Is there something I’m missing in the setup or  do I need to do factory reset ?

Hello Manuel,

Here’s a link the most common reasons your SSID’s are not broadcasting: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000088793

1 - you can reset and reconfigure the APs if you so wish

or

2 - You can copy the config from AP 3, change the MAC/IP addresses and load into AP 1 and 2. Should you want to go down this route, please follow these instructions to backup and restore the configs: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000082116

3 - Please upgrade to the lastest 7.5.x firmware

I hope this helps

Hi Christopher,

Thank you for your quick reply and instructions.

I did suggestion #2 and it worked.

I was able to get the signal (excellent) and find the access point in the RF scanner.

Next I will upgrade the firmware and will be able to ship all the equipments to the customer today.

Thanks again for your help!

Manuel
