Adoption will not happen unless the firmware is equal or greater than of the WLC. You will need to upgrade the RFS4K to the firmware that is same or higher as the AP7522. (For AP7522 you will need 5.8.xxx or above)

you can verify the firmware version after you login to either the AP or WLC via CLI with command 'show version'

Also on the WLC( rfs4k) you can run CLI command 'show adoption status' - you should see the AP7522 in the output but with error 'version-mismatch'

What means adoption status version-mismatch

Are all devices in the same VLAN? You can check for MINT "show mint neighbors".

"show adoption history" show you, if the AP connect to the RFS, but maybe no adoption policy is configured.

Additional to this, min. firmware for the latest APs is 5.8.6.5., SKU -1-WR. For the old SKUs 5.8.x is right.

Hi, what is the firmware version of your RFS4000? For the new version of AP7522 you will need 5.8.xxx or above.
