RFS4000 - Does not adopt AP's

OK, so life is not great. Had an RFS4000 die on me and have had a spare in the cupboard for a loooog time. Plugged it in and setup the basic information on it but the unit does not want to adopt the AP's. Is there a way I can force the 4000 to 'find' the AP's. These are the details of the 4000

rfs4000-DCD5C0 uptime is 0 days, 04 hours 43 minutes
CPU is Cavium Networks Octeon CN50XX V0.1
190804 kB of on-board RAM
Base ethernet MAC address is B4-C7-99-DC-D5-C0
System serial number is 122...34
Model number is RFS-4010-00010-WR
PoE firmware version is 211 build 1
FPGA version is 2.28

Appreciate any words of wisdom anyone can offer me.

By the way the AP's are not accessible unless you want to ride up in a high reach scissor lift which maybe my only option if the devices have to be replaced.

Thanks

Try this:
How to use AP discovery tool to find WiNG APs

The AP Discovery tool is part of the AP firmware zip distribution.

  • What version of code are the existing APs on
Unknown. APs have been in place for sometime

  • What model AP is installed
Believe to be AP650s

  • what version of code is the new controller running
Firmware on the controller - 5.2.12.0-010R

  • Are the APs in the same broadcast domain as the controller.
Not sure - but would expect them to be.

The APs are located high on the ceiling of the building and without using a scissor lift are not easily reachable. I was hoping the controller would broadcast out and identify the APs connected to it. Is there a log on the controller which might give me a clue why the APs are not being discovered?
