Dear All,
Bonjour,
can anyone help me how to upgrade the secondary firmware of a Access Point which is connected over a controller and please suggest me the steps to follow and do the process at the earliest.
AP model : AP7522 (5.8.6.5-002R both primary and secondary Images)
Controller : VX9000 (5.8.3.0-041R)
Is that any possibility to upgrade the firmware over console access. ? ()

hi
when connecting directly to the ap, use the commands Timo told you.
you have to provide the imge file for the ap ether by a server (ftp/tftp/...) or by uploading the image to the controller.
because the ap is connected to the controller i recommend this way.
also it is possible to update other aps later
as server i prefer ftp, works best for me till now.
for upgrading by controller, go to cli of the controller:
# device-upgrade load-image ftp://:@//image-file-name
check the upload state with
# show device-upgrade load-status
# show device-uprade version
when image is on the controller you can use the device-upgrade command
# device-upgrade XXXX
pls use "?" to choose the right option for the update
check the upgrade of the ap with
#show device-upgrade status

Hi,
you can update via CLI or GUI. Also update over the VX9000 is possible.
What version do you want to install, 5.8.3.?
Use via CLI "upgrade ". This updates the not running firmware bank. After you upgrade and reboot, you can do the same again. This updates the other firmware bank.
upgrade ? FILE Location of firmware image
usb1:/path/file
URL Location of firmware image
URLs: tftp://[:port]/path/file
ftp://:@[:port]/path/file
sftp://:@[:port]>/path/file
http://[:port]/path/file
cf:/path/file
usb:/path/file
